Deb's Vlog

Episode 43 – The last stage of completion. What’s left to do?

It’s been a little while since my last update. It’s been another really busy week for everyone. My amazing builders, Virtue Projects have had people working six days a week, and it looks like everything will be finished on schedule. Watch my video below for the latest details on progress.

Upstairs is almost finished. My beautiful Freedom Kitchen has been installed and it looks fantastic! You’ve got to watch the incredible time lapse of the kitchen installation. The joinery with concealed doors is done, the staircase is finished, and all the fussy details like cornices, skirting and architraves have just been finished. The benchtops are about to be measured up for my gorgeous Caesarstone Clouburst. What’s left to do? The painting, benchtops, then finally the electrical and plumbing fit off.

All the downstairs cabinetry has been installed this week – wardrobes, storage, laundry, media room. Have I told you I’m using another gorgeous Caesarstone product in the media room? I chose Rugged Concrete from their industrial-inspired designs. This range looks like hand-poured concrete, with interesting grey tones, soft textural patterns and a matte surface. Sounds very industrial, but it actually works beautifully with neutral palettes.

I’m excited, but a little apprehensive that all of the details I’ve pictured, compared, researched and bought… I just hope they all work. I hope everything comes together as I’ve envisaged it for so long!

Estimated time of completion is mid-July, and so far it looks like we’ll make it.
