Design Cues from the Kitchen

Overhead cabinets can be installed to utilise empty walls, while floor to ceiling cupboards are an ideal storage solution for utilities such as mops, brooms and ironing boards.

Internally, there’s no shortage of baskets, hampers and shelving solutions to keep everything in its place! Open shelving is an on-trend design solution for keeping useful items close at hand, whilst adding stylish edge to the room.

Super Work Surfaces
Caesarstone or laminate benchtops are an excellent choice for the laundry – they not only provide a moisture resistant work surface, they also look brilliant. Available in endless colours and finishes, choosing one to complement your home will be a breeze.

Making the Most of Small Spaces
When working with a small space it is important to optimise your working area to create a streamlined laundry zone. Stacking the dryer on top of the washer is a great space saver, whilst quality built-in cabinets for a laundry that will maximise every inch of space.

Many home renovators today are stealing square meterage from the laundry to make way for larger bathrooms or kitchens. Hallway laundries concealed by bi-fold doors or a laundry built into the kitchen or pantry space illustrate clever design solutions.

Light Up
At least one window for natural lighting and ventilation is preferable in the laundry, however if that’s not possible, consider installing under cabinet task lighting.
