Episode 40 – My front walkway is taking shape

By

With a cracking pace, the concreters worked hard outside creating the formwork for my carport, and front entry slab.

Still learning construction jargon every day… “formwork” means using support structures and edging to create a concrete structure; then concrete is poured into the moulds. So funny, I was told to think of formwork as if it were a cake tin.

Usually “reo” (reinforcing steel mesh) goes in the middle to give the concrete extra strength. Whew.

โ€ฆ and concrete is poured! Last of the concrete trucks.
