Episode 42 – My dream kitchen is almost finished!

A big call, but I think this week has been one of the most exciting yet. I’m thrilled to finally see my Freedom Kitchens dream kitchen installed. I can’t believe it’s gone from plan to reality – I’m almost overwhelmed at how spacious it is.

Follow my quick tour around the kitchen in the video below, to see my integrated fridge and freezer, the Miele ‘power tower’ (still to be installed), LED-lit upper cabinets and endless drawer space. The cabinetry looks fantastic. I absolutely love the frosted glass cabinets and Shaker style doors! My back benchtops will be in Caesarstone Cloudburst and the four metre long island bench in Dogal Grey Marble.

The splashback will be a Spanish, matte white subway tile with an irregular edge. With the LED lighting on at night, the tile edges should look like soft texturing. In such a huge kitchen space, I didn’t want anything particularly overt. To create the timeless, classic look I wanted, I’ve chosen beautiful style elements that don’t compete – to create a seamless visual, flowing from one end of the kitchen to the other.

I was fortunate to work with my own Freedom Kitchens design consultant, Sue, who helped me design a kitchen perfectly suited to my needs. She covered everything from how much space I like to use for cooking prep, practical access for items that are used daily, freezer storage and so many more personalised details. With her expert guidance, we created my beautiful, contemporary-yet-classic, Hampton’s inspired kitchen.

Watch below to see the fascinating three-day time-lapse of the Freedom Kitchens crew installing my kitchen.
